Sketching from Vashon to Port Townsend

My day began on the Vashon ferry dock waiting for the boat to Southworth. As I waited school buses

began to arrive to pick up the off-island children who attend school here on Vashon. Just enough time

for me to quick-sketch the buses and the arriving ferry. 

Off loading at Southworth with my destination Port Townsend. Even though my day was filled with meetings, I knew I would make time for a sketch or two while I was there. Last meeting was over at 5:30 and I headed for the boat yard to lose myself in this sketch. By now the workers have gone home

and the fishing boats they were working on became the subject of my interest. A lose sketch with my

micron 08 pen and water colors added back in my hotel room brought the day to a rewarding close in

one of my favorite northwest sketching locations.

Dear Friends,
This is my first blog so please bare with me as I figure out what works and what doesn't. 
The image is the latest in a series of weekly inspirational messages I have been sending to my regular contacts since the first of the year. I have received a lot of positive feedback on the art work and the message and now I want to share my art and thoughts with like minded others. 
It is my intention to create at least one inspirational message a week for my new blog. 

I will also post workshop and reading schedules here as well.
